Kadlec has an exciting opportunity for an Operating Room Scheduler to join our growing Cardiac Cath Lab team!
Shift Details: Per Diem. Variable shifts.
GED or High School Diploma from an accredited educational institution required.
One year office experience required.
Medical Terminology education or experience required.
Medical setting experience preferred.
Bi-lingual or multi-lingual skills preferred.
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
As an Operating Room Scheduler you willperforma variety of duties related to scheduling surgical procedures and clerical/receptionist activities of the department and serves as the focal communication source in the nursing station and performs related duties as assigned.
Accurately performs scheduling of Operative, Birth Center, and Endoscopy cases in OpTime from information received electronically, faxed and/or on the phone.
Follows scheduling routine per policy, which includes, but is not limited to: Making appropriate and consistent decisions to schedule cases and consulting the Lead RN and/or Anesthesia Provider running the board that day, and/or Manager, to clarify issues/questions.
Faxes schedules daily (prior to 1730) to various locations within the medical center, such as pathology/nuclear med/endoscopy to ensure communication to these departments is completed; Calls to confirm receipt; Notes follow-up call in the communication book.
Acts as primary contact to surgeon office staff regarding any changes, potential conflicts or concerns related to the schedule.
Alerts department lead, Anesthesia Provider running the board, and/or manager of concerns as it relates to scheduling.
Attends bi-weekly huddles to review the schedules, special comments, details of each case or surgeon request, and to follow up with office staff to clarify.
Creates a daily call schedule for main OR and CVOR on-call teams and faxes not later than 1500 to appropriate locations, specifically PCC, to include any revisions that occur during the day.
Remains Knowledgeable of and able to make changes in OpTime as needed for block scheduling as directed by Manager, or designee.
Participates in Epic training and meetings, as directed, to enhance functionality of OpTime within the department.
Acts as a resource for OpTime scheduling for staff, office staff and others.
