Kadlec Clinic has an exciting opportunity for an Authorization Representative - Hematology and Oncology Clinic (1.0FTE, Day) to join our growing Kadlec Clinic Hematology and Oncology team located in Kennewick, Washington!

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • H.S. Diploma or GED From an accredited educational institution.

  • Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook experience

Preferred Qualification:

  • Oncology coding experience

  • Medical setting experience.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

Under the general direction of the Practice Administrator/Manager, obtains payer authorizations, verifies coverage and benefit information for procedures performed by Kadlec Clinic Hematology and Oncology. Maintains competency with payer regulations and requirements to ensure optimum reimbursement for Kadlec Clinic providers assists patients with co-pay and financial assistants for underinsured and non-insured patients receiving chemotherapy and secondary drugs. Supports patient services in obtaining prior authorizations for services order by Kadlec Clinic Hematology and Oncology providers as needed.

  • Understand, embrace, and instill the Kadlec Clinic Guiding Principles.

  • Verify by telephone and/or internet eligibility and benefits for third party payer insurance from information provided on patient registration form.

  • Verify by telephone and/or internet that authorizations, pre-certifications, and referrals have been obtained for chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy services.

  • Research missing or inaccurate information to establish insurance eligibility and patient liabilities.

  • Receive patient type change notification and takes the action necessary to ensure third party payer care and coverage guidelines have been met.

  • Communicate in person and by telephone to patients, physician offices, third party payers, and agencies information required and/or needed to complete the insurance verification and authorization.

  • Provide patients and physician offices with estimated cost for services (as applicable).
