Kadlec has anexciting opportunity for a Medical Technologist (MT) / Medical Laboratory Scientist(MLS) to join our growing Free Standing Emergency Department team located in Kennewick, Washington!

Shift Details: Per Diem. Variable shifts.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degreein chemical, physical, biological or clinical laboratory science from anaccredited educational institution or equivalent education credits that meetMedical Technology certification required.

  • Three years general medical laboratory experience or equivalent blend of education and training required.

  • Phlebotomy experience required.

  • Currentcertification as a Medical Technologist (MT), Medical Laboratory Scientist(MLS), or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) registered with NCA, ASCLS, AAB,NAACLS, ASCP or HHS or certification eligible required. Must meet CLIA Regulations.

  • WAState MA-Certified or MA-Phlebotomist Licensure must be obtained within 90 daysfrom date of hire into the position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Additional experience in a medical laboratory preferred.

  • Bi-lingual or multi-lingual skills preferred.

Duties include, butare not limited to, the following:

As a Medical Technologist (MT) / Medical

Laboratory Scientist (MLS) you perform a variety of medical laboratory tests to provide data for use

in diagnosis and treatment of diseases follows established standards and

practices and performs related duties as assigned.

  • Analyzes patientspecimens by performing routine and special diagnostic medical laboratory testsand verifies results following department protocols.

  • Performs andreports quality control on all instrumentation before reporting test resultsfollowing established quality control policies and procedures.

  • Performspreventative maintenance on a variety of instruments and equipment anddocuments appropriately.

  • Verifies all normaland abnormal results, correlates abnormal test results with other patient data,seeks pathologist or supervisor consultation if necessary, and notifiesappropriate medical staff of test results.

  • Identifies patientblood specimens and performs manual test for blood banking procedures followingdepartment protocol.
