Kadlec has anexciting opportunity for an Ultrasound / X-Ray Technician to join our growing Free Standing Emergency team located in Kennewick, Washington!
Shift Details: Full Time, 0.9. Variable shifts
Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program and an AMA approved Ultrasound program
Hospital clinical experience required.
One year medical sonography experience as a registered sonographer, or as a registry eligible sonographer required.
ARDMS Ultrasound credential required or registry eligible. If registry eligible, registered status will be required within one year from date of hire into the position.
Current WA State X-Ray Technician or Radiologic Technologist licensure required.
Must be registry eligible with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and licensed in Radiology (R) within 3 months of hire date.
Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS required.
- Bi-lingual or multi-lingual skills preferred.
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
As an Ultrasound / X-Ray Technician you are responsible for operating and providing high quality diagnostic medical sonography and limited scope X-rays to patients in a safe manner for the purpose of diagnosis and/or treatment of anatomic and physiologic disorders. The Technologist, Ultrasound/Technician, X-Ray will also be trained on various patient care activities such as performing vital signs, EKGs, wound care, orthopedic splinting and other duties as assigned. Diagnostic Imaging Supervisors at KRMC will act on behalf of the Unit Manager, FSED to provide oversight of clinical skills, QAs, competencies, etc. Must present self in a professional manner, work well with a multidisciplinary team, have good communication skills, and adhere to KRMC’s policies and Vision Statement.
Performs ultrasonic diagnostic procedures and limited scope X-rays such as determined by the completion of selected performance based competencies.
Evaluates all diagnostic equipment for technical quality.
Adheres to KRMC Radiology department policies and protocols.
Prepares exam rooms, equipment, materials and staff according to protocol.
Validates physician orders, confirms patient ID, reconciles order if needed, confirms site/side, screens for pregnancy, assesses patient, assumes responsibility for the patient’s well-being, and conducts proper patient hand-offs.
Greets patient pleasantly, introduces self, confirms identification and explains examination procedure to the patient.
Prepares patient for procedure, positions patient and checks positioning. Prepares equipment for procedure to be administered. Operates the equipment.
