Kadlec Clinic has an exciting opportunity for a Behavioral Health Specialist to join our growing team located in Richland, Washington!
Shift Details: Full time, 1.0. 8 hours day shifts.
Master’s Degree in Social Work (MSW) required.
Current license to practice independently as a Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist or Mental Health Counselor in the State of Washington required.
Eligible for credentialing by Medicare, Medicaid, and other Third Party Insurance Payers required.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for Healthcare Providers through the American Heart Association required.
Three years Behavioral health experience, preferably in a primary care clinic or hospital environment, required.
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
As a Behavioral Health Specialist/Social Worker you will provide a high volume of brief consultation-based interventions to individuals and family in a primary care setting without restrictions in gender, age, complexity or medical comorbidity; Understand and utilizes a bio psychosocial approach to assessment and intervention; Clarify mental health diagnosis when needed; Serve as a patient advocate and brokers access to resources outside of the primary care network as appropriate (social services, housing, financial assistance, etc.); Educate patients and families; Engage in constant communication with other care team providers to insure clear team expectations and outcomes; Lead group visits when appropriate; Use approved tools and metrics to monitor patient progress; and strives to be as accessible as possible, typically seeing patients’ on-demand throughout the day.
Provides brief consultative interventions to individuals and family members in person and over secure telephonic and video systems.
Works effectively in a patient-centered, integrated care model in a variety of clinical settings.
Participates in shared treatment sessions with providers and patients.
Participates in integrative care team meetings to coordinate care.
Clarifies mental health diagnoses when needed.
Constructs, documents, and executes robust treatment plans using the biopsychosocial model.
Utilizes evidence-based clinical tools for tracking clinical outcomes in primary care.
Brokers patient access to resources as needed (housing, financial assistance, ADATSA, Medicaid, etc.).
Interfaces with community mental health and substance abuse treatment centers to coordinate care as appropriate.
Provides a supervisory role for interns and practicum students as appropriate.
Consistent uses the AIDET system for excellent service.
Participates on various committees and peer groups as requested.
Engages in trainings to learn and improve clinical skills as appropriate.
