Kadlec has an exciting opportunity for a Certified Tumor Registrar to join our growing Strategic Services team located in Richland, Washington!

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Education, training, and experience sufficient for Certified Tumor Registrar credential required.

  • Proficiency in word processing, Excel and Tumor Registry software required.

  • Certified Tumor Registrar (CTR) required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Two years Tumor Registry experience preferred.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

As a Certified Tumor Registrar, you will accurately complete abstracting and coding in a timely manner; provide requested data; report to Cancer committee ; prep case review for Tumor Conference, QA and enhancement studies. Prepare information for annual report and complies with American College of Surgeons Commission of Cancer Standards. Other functions include: case finding, accessioning new cases; input follow-up treatment and recurrence, downloading data to Washington State Cancer Registry, National Cancer Data Base and Commission on Cancer.

  • Maintains and promotes positive, open and honest interpersonal relationships with customers (physicians, employees, visitors, patients, and other PSHMC publics). Provides high quality service to all customers; focuses on understanding customers’ needs and follows through. Demonstrates respect for the capabilities, different cultures and or personalities of co-workers and Medical Center publics within the mission/values of Kadlec and PSMMC.

  • Maintains a suspense file of cases to be abstracted.

  • Stages accurately using the AJCC, collaborative staging and SEER systems.

  • Codes accurately using current FORDS, ICD-10, AJCC, SEER and C.S. systems.

  • 90% of cases are abstracted within 6 months of date of first contact.

  • Collects required data sets using COC data standards.

  • Performs quality control measures, peer review quarterly and 10% of analytic cases, physician review.
