Kadlec Consultant Pharmacist - Ambulatory Surgery Center in Richland, Washington
Kadlec has an exciting opportunity for a Consultant Pharmacist to join our growing Tri City Regional Surgery Center team located in Richland, Washington.
Shift Details: Full time, 1.0. 8 hour day shifts
Bachelor's degree of Science in Pharmacy OR Ph.D of Pharmacy degree from an accredited educational institution required.
Current Washington State Pharmacist Licensure required.
Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS required.
2 years Pharmacist experience required.
Thorough knowledge and understanding of medical terminology required.
Pharmacy experience in a hospital or ambulatory clinic setting or residency.
Consultant pharmacy experience.
Automated Medication Dispensing Technology experience preferred.
IV Therapy and Compounding experience.
Bi-lingual or multi-lingual skills preferred.
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Serves as a resource to staff, physicians, and visitors by providing expert advice on pharmaceutical practice in each area of responsibility.
Leads and participates in clinical audits, quality improvement projects and development and implementation of treatment protocols and guidelines for use of medicines within each area of responsibility, using quality improvement process working closely with the Quality/Risk Team.
In conjuction with the medical and administrative leadership, remains responsible for identifying and developing policies and practices related to utilization, risk management, security and compliance that support best practice scenarios for appropriate, safe, cost-effective medication use in an ambulatory surgery center or ambulatory clinic.
Maintains, assists, and collaborates with key medical leaders regarding the development, best practices and enforcement of compliance with rules and regulations of CMS, AAAHC, DOH, Pharmacy Quality Assurance Commission (Board of Pharmacy), and other regulatory bodies.
Monitors medicines use within each area of responsibility, includes recording of significant clinical incidents, near misses, interventions and risk management.
