Kadlec has an exciting opportunity for a Cook to join our growing Nutrition Services team located in Richland, Washington!

Shift Details : 1.0 FTE, Full time, Variable shift

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Current Food Handler's Permit

  • 2 years restaurant or institutional cooking experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • GED or High School Diploma from an accredited educational institution

  • Additional food preparation coursework

  • Institutional food preparation training

  • ServSafe Certification

  • Bi-lingual or multi-lingual skills

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

As a Cook you will remain responsible for the preparation of foods for patients, the café and others as directed, following standard practices and procedures and performs related duties as assigned.

  • Demonstrate and sustain compliance with Kadlec Caregiver Expectations Standards of Excellence and Code of Conduct.

  • Review menu, production sheet, and patient census, as applicable, to determine the types and quantities of food to be prepared to ensure adequate food volumes for patients and retail spaces run by Kadlec, as well as the Kadlec Child Care Center and aids in the development of upcoming menus.

  • Plan cooking schedules and identify necessary advance preparation for the next day.

  • Prepare and cook meal items using multi-step and scratch cooking techniques and standardized recipes, incorporating raw ingredients to produce high quality batch prepared foods.

  • Ensure that high quality food is made available simultaneously for serving at all locations in a timely manner to meet customer demand.

  • Ensure proper handling of food by following the Hazard Analysis Critical Point (HACCP) guidelines for safe food handling to include thawing, prepping, and cooking, holding, cooling and reheating foods and properly documents food temperature during cooking and holding of foods in the temperature log.

  • Utilize a variety of cooking methods to achieve the best food products including baking, braising, broiling, grilling, steaming and others as appropriate.
