High School Diploma or G.E.D. from an accredited education institute required.
Certificate in Culinary Arts or related field required –OR – Associate’s or higher in Culinary Arts, Business or related field from an accredited education institution required.
2 years’ experience in an cook position required.
1 year purchasing, inventory management/inventory control experience required.
1 year supervisory experience required.
Current Food Handlers Permit required.
Successful completion of SERVSAFE Food Protection Manager Certification course within 1 year from date of hire into the position.
1 year modified diet experience preferred.
Bi-lingual or multi-lingual skills preferred.
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
As a Food Production Supervisor you will supervise patient and retail meal production including daily kitchen operations; Maintain high standards for quality patient meal service and customer satisfaction; Perform a variety of functions related to purchasing food and equipment, monitoring and maintaining inventory levels, updating master order guides.; Participate in the hiring, training and performance evaluations of assigned personnel; Remain responsible for patient and retail menu planning and implementation; Work collaboratively with Nutrition Services management team to assure efficient department operations; and performs related duties as assigned.
Remains responsible for menu development for patient meal service, including modified diet menu, as well as retail and catering options.
Serves as the leader for assigned food production caregivers including coaching, mentoring, supervision, performance guidance, and time card approval.
Manages and supervises on a day-to-day basis caregivers responsible for food production, meal preparation, janitorial and sanitation duties ensuring appropriate daily staffing and the efficient, cost-effective use of caregiver resources to meet the demand.
Collaborates with Human Resources on personnel issues.
Collaborates with Talent Acquisition on recruitment items including completing requisitions, interviewing, hiring.
