Kadlec has an exciting opportunity for a Food Service Worker/Meal Service Representative (Temporary) to join our growing Nutrition Services team located in Richland, Washington!

Shift Details: Full Time, 1.0. 8 hour variable shifts.

While temporary, this hybrid position is benefits-eligible and its anticipated duration is 6 months or more !

This position will be part of a pilot program to assist with department staffing needs. After 6 months, this position may convert to regular status. Opportunities to be considered for ongoing positions will be available throughout the assignment.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Food Handler's Permit required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • GED or High School Diploma from an accredited educational institution preferred.

  • Six months public interaction/interface experience preferred.

  • Previous food handling experience preferred.

  • ServSafe Certification preferred.

  • Bi-lingual or multi-lingual skills preferred.

Food Service Worker duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

As a Food Service Worker you will perform a variety of routine tasks related to the preparation and service of food. Works in dishroom, pot and pan area and performs related work as assigned.

  • Sweeps, mops, collects and disposes of garbage.

  • Sorts, washes, sanitizes and rinses dishes, pots and pans, and flatware.

  • Loads and operates dishwasher and stacks or stores clean dishware in correct storage areas.

  • Performs a variety of cold food production tasks such as making sandwiches, salads, preparing vegetables and fruits for cooking or serving raw. Prepares coffee.

  • Prepares trays for patients with sensitivity to individual needs (e.g., age, disability).

  • Assembles condiments, cold foods and beverages for general and modified diet patient trays; assists in cafe food service as assigned.

  • Operates P.O.S / cash register and completes cash transactions.

Meal Service Representative duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

As a Meal Service Representative you deliver meal trays and nourishment to patients; educate patients on Food Service on Call ordering system; resolve meal related problems and provides timely response to patient menu requests; perform clinical nutrition functions; assist with some cold food tray set-up, react to change productively and performs other duties as assigned.

  • Delivers meals and nourishment to patients and guests in their rooms; demonstrates consideration, courtesy, and a helpful attitude; retrieves trays after patients and guests finish their meals.

  • Provides tray assistance as needed by opening food containers and packages for patients.

  • Understands and adheres to food handling safety rules and regulations, monitors and records pantry refrigeration temperatures.

  • Listens to patients who express meal/menu problems; responds appropriately and attempts to resolve problems at the point of service.

  • Acts as liaison between patients and Nutrition Services establishing a positive relationship with the patients.

  • Educates patients on Room Service menu and meal ordering process.
