- Housekeeping experience
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
As a Housekeeping Technician you will perform daily cleaning tasks for patient and resident rooms, nursing stations, lounges, restrooms, offices, clinical areas, non-clinical areas, and any other areas assigned in accordance with standard procedures of the Environmental Services Department and in accordance with Kadlec standards and objectives.
Demonstrate and sustain compliance with Kadlec Caregiver Expectations Standard of Excellence and Code of Conduct.
Clean and sanitize patient rooms, bathrooms and utility rooms.
Damp mop and sanitize floors in patient rooms and offices; dusts and wipes clean all furniture.
Clean and polish metal and porcelain fixtures; cleans ceilings, walls and windows.
Replenish room supplies.
Fill soap dispensers.
Sanitize floors, walls and ceilings in the Operating Rooms.
Clean vents, fixtures, doors and door frames daily.
Maintain the Operating Room lounges and dressing rooms in a clean and orderly condition.
Sanitize mattresses and bed frames and makes beds following department procedure.
Vacuum carpets, spot cleans carpets as needed.
Store, sort and distribute linens following department procedure.
Empty waste baskets, removes trash and soiled linens and to collection area.
Maintain assigned cleaning cart assuring it contains all required supplies.
Perform all environmental services-related tasks demonstrating service orientation to fellow employees, client staff and customers.
Perform basic cleaning functions in assigned areas following established schedules and using prescribed methods:
Dust horizontal surfaces.
Empty wastebaskets, removes waste, relines basket.
Damp wipes and cleans all furniture.
Clean and polish metal and porcelain fixtures in bathrooms.
Mop and sanitize floors of rooms and offices.
Spot cleans walls and windows.
Polish metal surfaces.
Replenish room supplies.
Perform "check-out/discharge" cleaning as assigned.
Vacuum carpets; spot clean as needed.
Sort and distribute linen as assigned.
Transport soiled linen to central collection point.
Perform heavier cleaning functions in assigned areas following established schedules and using prescribed methods:
Dust and wet mops floors.
Scrub or buff floors with appropriate equipment.
Cycle clean induction units, light fixtures and windows.
Cycle clean ceilings and walls.
Measure and mix cleaning chemicals.
Assist in cleaning of emergency spills when observed or upon request.
Maintain assigned equipment for cleanliness and recommend repairs as needed.
Observe and reports the general need for repairs to equipment, furniture, building and fixtures.
Assist in evacuating ambulatory patients and residents to exits in case of fire or other internal disaster.
Assist nursing in making up extra beds and other duties as assigned in case of community, internal, or other disasters.
Scrub and/or buffs floors using appropriate equipment.
Vacuum and shampoo carpets for bacterial control with commercial vacuum and carpet extractor.
Strip and refinish hard surface floors.
Transport trash from utility rooms and other collection points and disposes of appropriately following Medical Center procedures.
Collect soiled linens from patient care areas and transports in carts to central collection point.
Operate San-i-pak system according to manufacturer’s recommendations.
