Kadlec Lift Facilitator in Richland, Washington
Kadlec has an exciting opportunity for a Lift Facilitator to join our growing Physical Therapy team located in Richland, Washington!
Shift Details: 1.0 FTE, Full time, Days
GED or High School Diploma from an accredited educational institution
If Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), current WA State CNA Licensure
Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Completion of a Certified Nursing Assistant program
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
As a Lift Facilitator you will serve as a partner in the lift/transfer process to educate staff on proper techniques and equipment on an ongoing basis.
Embrace Planetree Philosophy to provide a safe, comfortable, therapeutic patient centered environment.
Teach and instruct other healthcare workers on safe patient moving and transferring, including classroom setting as well as “real time” training.
Observe the needs of the patient; Make appropriate communication to the staff regarding patient’s ability to move and any changes in status.
Assess situation to determine appropriate equipment to utilize relative to physical setting, patient ability, and safety needs.
Maintain inventory and accountability of lift equipment (slip sheets, ceiling lifts and portable life equipment).
Assist team with safe transfer of patients including (prioritized in this order):
Patient needing to go/return from/from tests/treatment.
Patient transferring to chair/bedside commode.
Patient in beds/gurneys/wheelchairs transferring to other departments.
Assist with developing and providing education for injury prevention and patient safety concerns relative to lifts/transfers.
Promote teamwork, with an emphasis on timely and understandable communication of patient care information to the patient and between care providers across the continuum of care.
Collaborate with health care team for discharge planning.
Demonstrate skills that are required for specialty clinical practice and regulatory requirements annually.
Provide age appropriate care.
Participate in unit and hospital wide performance improvement activities in order to improve patient care and comply with regulatory groups such as Leapfrog and Core Measures.
Pursue professional growth and development through active participation in educational opportunities.
Treat all patients, families, staff and physicians with dignity, compassion and respect at all times and demonstrates respect and understanding of all departmental positions in accordance with Planetree Philosophy.
Foster a culture of safety.
Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills with customers and co-workers.
Adhere to policies as applicable to department related to infection control, fire and safety, hazardous chemicals and personnel policies.
