We are happy to announce four openings for our Nurse Extern Program, for a February start!
Shift Details: Per diem. Variable shifts. Minimum of 8 hours/week and maximum of 20 hours/week per Nurse Extern Guidelines.
About our Nurse Extern Program:
We offer a unique opportunity for nursing students to build an excellent clinical skill set in a real-world work environment. Under the direction of an RN, the Nurse Extern contributes to the clinical care of patients. Externs have opportunities in a number of clinical and specialty areas with flexible scheduling determined by the student's school schedule and specific unit needs. (Externs must work a minimum of 8 and maximum of 20 hours per week.) The Program includes an offer of employment at Kadlec Regional Medical Center as a Nurse Extern, along with tuition assistance of $3,000 per calendar year.
To be eligible for consideration for the Nurse Extern Program, an applicant must meet the following criteria:
Enrolled and in active good standing in an accredited ADN or BSN pre-licensure program.
Successful completion of the program's first quarter/semester prior to orientation.
Successful completion of one quarter/semester of clinical rotations prior to orientation.
Maintain an overall (cumulative) minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
Utilize the Kadlec Tuition Program of $3,000 per calendar year (per signed agreement, below)
Please note: For the February 2021 start date, the following groups of students are unable to be considered due to hiring timeline: J1s, and those graduating May/June 2021
Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS.
WA State Nurse Technician Licensure (application completed following offer of employment).

What to expect next:
Upon applying, a review of your applicant bundle will ensure you meet the minimum requirements of the Nurse Extern position. You will then receive an email asking you to complete a pre-recorded interview. A percentage of candidates will then be moved forward to a live video-interview with the hiring manager and clinical educator.
We anticipate offers to be extended by Friday, January 29 for start dates the week of February 15. This round is expected to move very quickly.
