Kadlec Nursing Student Tech - Clinical Decision Unit in Richland, Washington
Kadlec has an exciting opportunity for a Nursing Student Tech to join our growing Clinical Decision Unit team located in Richland, Washington!
Shift Details: Full-Time, 0.9 FTE, 12-Hour Variable Shift (Primary Days).
Required qualifications for this position include:
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS required.
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
- College students pursuing clinical education career.
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
Under the direction of the Unit Manager, lead nurse, or designee, performs non-direct patient care duties as assigned.
Demonstrates and sustains compliance with Kadlec Caregiver Expectations Standards of Excellence and Code of Conduct.
Assists professional nursing staff with one-to-one observation of patients while performing no patient care, i.e. blood pressure, weight, assisting with activities of daily living. Acts under the direction and supervision of the RN/LPN assigned to the patient.
Observes patient's environment to ensure safety and comfort.Communicates effectively with patients, families and staff demonstrating a positive and caring attitude; demonstrates sensitivity to patient's emotional, social and mental health needs.Recognizes and reports changes in the patient and the environment following department procedure and standards. Immediately alerts nursing personnel to emergency situations.
Performs audits as assigned.
Adheres to standard policies as outlined in the unit related to infection control, fire and safety, hazardous chemicals, personnel policies, hospital and departmental procedures and standards.
Receives and greets patients, visitors and Medical Center personnel and responds to inquiries with tact and courtesy.
Receives and delivers to appropriate personnel a variety of documents, messages, medications, specimens, and medical equipment as requested by physicians, nursing staff or Medical Center procedure.
Answers the telephone and utilizes the Medical Center communications and telephone systems appropriately.
