Kadlec Pharmacist Resident - PGY1 in Richland, Washington
Kadlec has an exciting opportunity for a Resident Pharmacist to join our growing Pharmacy Residency team located in Richland, Washington!
Shift Details: Full Time, 1.0. Variable Shifts.
Note: All applicants must have a Pharm.D. degree from and accredited school of pharmacy and be eligible for pharmacy licensure in the state of Washington. In addition to this application, all application materials must be submitted through the PhORCAS application system managed by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP). Required application materials to be submitted through PhORCAS include: Letter of Intent, Curriculum Vitae (CV), three letters of recommendation, and an academic transcript from your school of pharmacy.
Graduation from an accredited College of Pharmacy required.
Current Washington State Pharmacist Licensure required.
Pharmacy Intern License maysubstitute for Pharmacist within the first 90 days of employment with alicensed Pharmacists’ supervision.
Pharm D Practice Degree preferred.
Experience in hospitalpharmacy practices as a student, intern or pharmacist preferred.
Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
As a Clinical Compliance Pharmacist you will divide duties and time equally between Compliance (inspection and consultative services to Kadlec Clinic sites to assure that drug utilization practices comply with governmental and Joint Commission regulatory standards) and staffing duties as a Clinical Pharmacist; and maintain a collaborative working relationship with the Kadlec Clinics Medical Staff Quality Director.
Review and interpretsphysicians’ orders to assure that the drug, dosage form, and dose isappropriate for the patient’s age, weight, condition and co-morbidities. Checksfor drug incompatibilities and allergies, and takes appropriate action whennecessary.
Performs Narcotic Safeinventory maintenance tasks per management directives.
Provide prescribedmedications and other pharmaceuticals as needed for patient care according toprofessional standards and practices
Oversees controlledmedication procurement, distribution, security, and documentation compliancedaily.
Supervise and checks workof the pharmacy technicians; may assist in interviews, selection and trainingof new technicians.
Perform specialized orderentry functions and maintains patient pharmaceutical care documentation withinthe clinical information system.
Advises and consults withpatients and other health professionals regarding medication therapy indications,efficacy, adverse effects, safety recommendations, administration guidelines,and optimum utilization practice.
May perform specializedadministrative assignments such as attending designated meetings, inventorymanagement activities, medication education activities, employee scheduling,various quality assurance activities, quality improvement team participation orclinical pharmacy project work.
