Kadlec RN Medication Distribution ASC - Orthopedic Surgery Center in Richland, Washington


Kadlec Clinic has an exciting opportunity for an RN Medication Distribution ASC to join our growing Orthopedic Surgery Center team located in Richland, Washington.

Shift Details: 1.0 FTE, Day Shift, Full-Time


Minimum Requirements:

  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program required.

  • Current WA State RN Licensure required.

  • Current American Heart Association Healthcare Provider BLS required.

  • 1 year recent acute care, Operating Room, or PACU RN experience required.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BSN from an accredited nursing program preferred.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

As a Registered Nurse you will assumes independent responsibility/accountably for the direct, primary care of patients through the pre/post phases of surgical care. Utilizes the nursing process to provide comprehensive nursing care during the peri-operative phase. Coordinates total patients care in coordination with other health care team members. Functions as a patient advocate utilizing the Patients’ Bill of Rights. Demonstrates professional growth and development by accepting responsibility and accountability for one’s nursing practice. Serves as a liaison between physicians, staff, patients and their families to facilitate safe and effective flow of patient care in a manner consistent with the Mission, Vision and Values of Kadlec Regional Medical Center; and assists in providing direction and supervision of nursing and support staff, as well as perform related duties as assigned.

  • Demonstrate and sustains compliance with the Caregiver Expectations and Code of Conduct.

  • Act as a resource to staff, physicians, and visitors.

  • Perform a variety of clerical, office and basic medication duties by organizing and prioritizing to ensure a smooth and efficient work flow.

  • Receive and signs for medications and solutions delivered to the Medication Room, unpacks, and shelves the items; Maintains the drug acquisition data in the computer system; and maintains an accurate inventory verified by counts per existing policies.

  • Work closely with the Medical Director to maintain facility Drug Formulary.

  • Generate correspondence, memoranda, reports, requisitions, forms and other documents as needed.

  • Assist with the development and maintenance of medication policies and procedures.

  • Perform drug repackaging activities, controlled substance inventory tracking, medication transportation and deliveries.

  • Use principles of aseptic technique in varying situations, such as infection control practices, medication preparation, hand washing, demonstrating knowledge of clean vs. sterile.

  • Adhere to dress code policy for peri-operative areas.

  • Remove outdated medication in all medication areas in the facility.
