Kadlec Security Supervisor - Security in Richland, Washington


Kadlec Clinic has an exciting opportunity for a Security Supervisor to join our growing Environmental Services team located in Richland, Washington!

Shift Details: Full-time, 1.0 FTE, Day Shift


Minimum Requirements:

  • Valid driver’s license

  • 3 years experince in Law Enforcement/Security/Military/Corrections experience, or related experience in healthcare setting

Preferred Qualification:

  • Associate's Degree in an accredited college in law enforcement, criminal justice, security, or related field, or completion of basic law enforcement academy.

  • Currently holds a Certified Protection Professional (CPP) certification from American Society for Industrial Security or ability to obtain CPP certification

  • 1 year in Direct supervisory experience for a minimum of 10 employees.

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Demonstrate and sustain compliance with Kadlec Caregiver Expectations Standard of Excellence and Code of Conduct.

• Understands, embraces, and instills Kadlec’s Mission, Vision and Values.

• Attends training sessions (in-service, Healthstream and shift meetings) to obtain information on new procedures and maintain compliance with departmental standards. Successfully complete and maintain certifications in MOAB/Defensive Tactics, OC/Pepper Spray, Expandable Baton, Conducted Electrical Weapon/Taser, Handcuffing, CPR/AED and other healthcare security training as assigned.

• Maintain a successful skill level in the use of several items of security and protective equipment including Expandable Baton, OC/Pepper Spray, Two-Way Radios, Handcuffs, Cameras, Restraint Devices, etc.; Maintains and cares for personally issued equipment and uniforms.

• Promptly reports any fire or safety hazards with particular emphasis on imminent danger circumstances; Ensures all emergency egress locations are free of obstructions; Completes assigned inspections of fire extinguishers and Code Blue (emergency call boxes).

• Reports for duty on time and maintains post assignments at times specified.

• Maintains visitor control after hours and denies access to all unauthorized persons.

• Provides local law enforcement liaison with all staff and employees.

• Willingly accepts projects and work assignments as assigned by Manager of Safety and Security and/or Administration.

• Assumes responsibility for reading and comprehending all pass-downs and memos.

• Possesses knowledge of emergency procedures and internal/external disaster plans.

• Recognizes personal abilities and limitations. Requests assistance in situations that exceed abilities (i.e.; lifting/violent intervention).

• Recognizes, establish and copes with priorities properly.

• Must be able to communicate effectively with people, including juveniles, by giving information and directions, mediating disputes, and advising of rights and processes. Additionally, must be able to endure verbal and mental abuse when confronted with the hostile views and opinions of suspects and other people encountered in an antagonistic environment.

• Serves as Dispatcher utilizing integrated security systems; radio dispatches personnel to respond to occurrences and phone calls for assistance; provides and maintains documentation.

• Maintains a working knowledge of HIPAA regulations and allowable disclosures to law enforcement agencies.

• Maintains confidentiality of records or medical center information at all times; Confidential information and conversations are secured from general public access.

• All other duties as assigned.
