Kadlec Sterile Processing Technician - Tri-City Regional Surgery Center in Richland, Washington

Kadlec has an exciting opportunity for Sterile Processing Technician to join our growing Tricity Regional Surgery Ctr team located in Richland, Washington!

Shift Details: Per-diem ,0.0, Day-Shift; No weekends and Holidays!

Applicants without the CRCST Certification, must be obtained it within one year from date of hire and/or transfer into the position.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Current Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) Certification required. If no CRCST Certification, must be obtained within one year from date of hire and/or transfer into the position.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Coursework/Training Graduation from a Healthcare Central Service Program from an accredited educational institution

  • Central Supply Room and/or Sterile Processing Department experience

Duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

Under the direction of the RN Manager ASC KC, performs a variety of tasks related to cleaning, sterilizing and assembling and wrapping surgical instruments; Restocks supplies and instrumentation; and completes other duties to facilitate the patient care team.

  • Demonstrate and sustain compliance with Kadlec Caregiver Expectations Standard of Excellence and Code of Conduct

  • Clean, inspect, assemble and wraps instrument trays.

  • Checks for contamination, tears, holes and moisture in linens

  • Maintain a variety of logs and records relating to the operation of sterilizing equipment

  • Maintain inventory of supplies, notifies appropriate personnel as needed

  • Operate and maintains the sterilizing equipment in the Instrument and Decontamination room assuring proper functioning and sterilizing temperatures, pressures and time cycles

  • Read and interprets gauges properly; reports any malfunctions to Manager or Lead

  • Deliver instruments and supplies to the Operating Room, Central Supply, and other departments

  • Adhere to department safety policies and procedures in operating equipment and handling contaminated materials; follows Universal Precautions. Wears impervious gown, face mask, gloves, and goggles in the decontamination room

  • Understand AMMI, AORN, APIC standards as they relate to sterilization and decontamination

  • Adhere to standard policies as outlined in department related to infection control, fire and safety, hazardous chemicals, personnel policies and department procedures
